During many consultations, many of my clients say they need to check with their partner, husband, wife ect about potentially taking me on as a coach.
I get it, especially as it can be a financial expense.
However, when I was catching up with a client the other week, discussing nutrition and who cooks ect they came out with
‘My partner doesn’t know I have a PT’.
Now this did shock me considering knowing their partner cooks most of their meals, but also because I’m so used to potential clients always saying I need to speak with the other half before making a decision.
Of course I asked why, simply due to the fact this client had lost motivation and the check ins weren’t coming in as fast as they use to.
They said ‘ my partner would say its a waste of money’.
This again I do understand. I have experienced a lot of individuals (not to my face) say ‘PT is a waste of money’ however this client has been a client of mine for just under a year and achieved some incredible results, with also saying many have complimented them, including their partner.
My whole response to them was ‘talk with your partner and discuss why you took on a PT’
The reasoning being is having a support system with anything is key.
Now of course, with all my clients they have me as a part support system.
And I say part because the other part will come from those around them, friends, family.
This will really be where an individual will see the results because the majority of the time, their other support person can keep them extra accountable, increase motivation/discipline and help them with things like nutrition.
And even sometimes they might join you on some of the journey
Which can be a huge thing for both of you
So if you are on a health and fitness journey, who is your support system?
What do they do to support you?
